A Safety Recall Web Application for Colt Firearms
Overview
This project involved designing and building a high priority application for Colt, so that the web application could be included in a press release regarding the safety recall and made available to customers as soon as possible.
Problem
The primary challenge was providing a reliable way for Colt to process safety recalls for its customers on a very tight timeline.
Key constraints included:
- A rapid development cycle
- Reliable means of data retention and validation
- Careful attention to cybersecurity risks
Goals
The project aimed to:
- Provide affected customers with a means of participating in the safety recall
- Collect and securely store the information required for the processing of recalls
- Answer a set of FAQs related to the recall so that customers could efficiently find the information
Success was measured by:
- Regular progress updates and meetings with Colt
- The succesful processing of recalls
My Role
I worked as a Software Developer for Ironistic, responsible for:
- Creation of the user interface
- Contributions to the business logic for the recall system
- Acting as a technical liaison between Colt and Ironistic during meetings
Results
The project sucessfully met the requirements and needs of both Colt and its customers.
